Fragment / Eroded — Surface Research & Material Contrast
Fragment / Eroded is a series exploring surface disruption through fractures, voids and controlled material erosion.
Basic and sculptural forms are intentionally interrupted, generating contrast between brushed silver surfaces and darkened, porous areas.
The work is developed through manual intervention on the material, focusing on texture, depth and irregularity as structural elements.
Surface treatment is used to create variation between smooth and eroded zones, enhancing contrast and light absorption.
First introduced in 2013–2014, this approach has been continuously developed and refined over time, becoming a recurring language within the ELL Milano project.
The series reflects an ongoing exploration of material transformation and controlled imperfection.
